JUSTIN DAMBRUCK
INFIELDER CLASS OF ‘22
Justin Dambruck is a 5'7", 163 pound right handed hitting middle infielder from Curacao who plays for Trinity Christian Academy (Lake Worth, FL) . He played third base during the 2021 season, but Justin projects as a short stop or second baseman at the college level. Boasting strong defensive instincts, Justin has outstanding range and is a plus defender at all three positions. His footwork is refined and he receives the ball smoothly both on the ground and on throws. He has a very strong arm and a quick release. He had only three errors in 2020 and posted a .940 fielding percentage.
Justin has tremendous potential as a hitter. He has a smooth swing and makes load contact. He continues to refine his approach at the plate, and he has been patient to a fault at times. He has a great eye but needs to be more aggressive at the plate at times. He shows very good power for a middle infielder, hitting two home runs during his junior season. He hit .254 and reached base at a .430 clip. He made a big jump in production from 2020 to 2021 and expects to break out during his senior season at the plate..
Justin has solid speed, running his 60 yard dash in 6.9 seconds. He is a solid baserunner who stole three bases last season. He has a strong baseball IQ that will continue to improve with experience.
Justin is a hard worker who is able to take and apply coaching. He is a solid teammate who is well-liked by his peers. He is also a strong student in the classroom. Already a plus defender, his high ceiling at the plate makes him an intriguing D1-level prospect.
