EDUARDO MOREL
INFIELDER CLASS OF ‘22
Eduardo Morel is a 5'9", 170 pound right handed hitting infielder who plays for Trinity Christian Academy in Lake Worth, Florida. Primarily a second baseman, Eddy can play short stop and third base as well. He has soft hands and good footwork that allow him to cover plenty of ground at second base. He has a strong arm that allows him to make the throws from all three positions. Positioning and footwork on the double play turn are crisp.
Eduardo has a compact swing and he hits to all fields. He is an excellent contact hitter who hit .320 his junior year. He is a patient hitter who takes his walks, reaching base at a .419 clip last season. He flashes extra base power. He is a clutch hitter who is excellent with runners in scoring position, driving in 19 runs from the two hole in 2020.
Eddy has solid speed, running his 60 yard dash in 7.0 seconds. He is an above-average baserunner who is improving his speed with increased agility and explosion training. He has potential to become a base-stealer at the next level.
Eddy is extremely coachable and demonstrates strong work ethic. He listens to instruction and makes adjustments. He has a level-headed approach at the plate that keeps him grounded even when slumping. He is a great teammate and competitor who will make a mark at the next level.
