ARIEL ANTIGUA

SHORTSTOP CLASS OF ‘23

Ariel Antigua is a 5'8", 177 pound right handed hitting shortstop who plays for Trinity Christian Academy in Lake Worth, Florida. He has a college-ready, muscular frame that he continues to improve with an intensive workout routine. Ariel has been a varsity shortstop since the seventh grade, but he also demonstrates excellent measurables behind the dish. He has excellent hands and footwork, and his arm is among the best in the country. His infield velo across the diamond has been measured at 94 mph, his catcher velo has been timed at 81 mph, and his pop time behind the plate is 1.87 seconds.

Ariel has a compact, powerful swing and he hits to all fields. He was named the Palm Beach Hitter of the Year by HSBN in 2021 after an outstanding all-around year. He posted a slash line of .391/.429/.731/1.165 for his state finalist Trinity Christian team. He drove in 39 runs to lead the county, hit three home runs, six triples, and nine doubles. His most recent exit velo measurement was 89 mph.

Ariel has solid speed, running his 60 yard dash in 7.0 seconds. He is a tremendous base runner with great instincts on the base paths.

Ariel was first team all county (Sun Sentinel, Palm Beach Post) in 2021 and he has been named to an all tournament team 33 teams in Perfect Game events.

Ariel is a natural leader and displays an outstanding work ethic. He demands the best out of himself and his teammates. He refuses to be outworked by anyone as evidenced by his 4-6 hour workouts in the offseason. Ariel is committed to the University of South Carolina and his ceiling is a first day MLB draft selection.
